This was an amazing experience for me! Crossed off an adventure on my bucket list for sure. Found a 5 1/4" Meg, was broken and not whole, but it was great! I will be back for another round one day! Thanks for the awesome experience! Kaleb was awesome and a great good luck charm!

Single-handedly the best fossil hunting experience out there in terms of quality and quantity. I had Caleb tour me for my first day of my double decker and Josh for the 2nd day. On the first day I landed 2 species I never had in my collection and a specific find that isnt common in Florida. Caleb was helpful and very knowledgeable of the prehistory of the area and also gave me pointers for better sifting and identification. On the 2nd day I had Josh accompany me in the lightning site and boy was it a blast! He helped prep the pit with the excavator and showed me the methods to pull out teeth from the clay layer and provided all kinds of accommodations to make the experience even better. I sadly did not find the biggest nor the largest finds but that can be for another time I decide to do the tour again. I felt like a guest rather than a customer with Palmetto Fossil Excursions and I cannot thank them enough for the experience and customer service!

We went to the lightning dig 2 days in a row and had the pleasure of working with Tara, Matt, Josh, and Caleb. They made sure we had tools, air, and shade as they put us on teeth!!! They enjoy what they do and are excited to share their knowledge. They help to dig and any tooth they find they give to their customers! They are down to earth, hard working people and we will go back in a heartbeat!!! Thanks to all!

10/10 recommend! I recently booked a 4 hour pit dig and can’t express how amazing it was for me and my family. The guides were absolutely amazing and insanely knowledgeable about all our finds. I will definitely book another dig next time I’m in Charleston.

My wife and I did our first fossil dig at the 100 acre dry pit, and we had a great time. Dustin was our guide and he did a great job and was very knowledgeable. We are all ready planning on doing a trip to the lighting site in the fall. Very happy with the experience and looking forward to returning.

We had a fantastic time at the 100 acre site this morning. Mark was a top tier guide - we spent the day hanging out with someone who loves fossils as much as us. We left with a full bag of shark teeth and are looking forward to having Mark show us around the lightning site this fall.

I don’t write reviews ever…but my experience with Caleb today was awesome. Not only was he a digging machine…but he set up umbrellas and fans to beat the heat! We scored some nice teeth, but the find of the day was a beautiful Meg. Worth every penny! Don’t hesitate to sign up. Thank you Caleb and PFE!!!

Lightning Site dig with Josh was a great experience. We found several megalodon teeth and other sharks teeth as well as prehistoric bones. it was such a fun adventure for our family.
