What a fantastic experience! It was a lot of hard work moving a lot of dirt, but so rewarding once you get a glimpse of that first tooth. Our guide Dustin was very knowledgeable and worked to give us the best possible shot at finding the megs we were after. Can’t recommend Palmetto Fossil Excursions enough!

I seriously can’t say enough good things about Palmetto Fossil Excursions. I’ve done digs at other places where they basically drop you off and say “go dig,” but this was completely different.
My guide Dustin was awesome—he explained everything from the start, like the different dirt layers, where you’re most likely to find teeth, what to look for, and how to dig the right way. He also helped identify everything I found, which made the whole experience way more fun and interesting. I did the Nitty Gritty dig and spent 6 hours at the Lightning site and 2 hours at the 100 Acres site. Ended up finding my meg at the Lightning site plus 2 partials, and some really cool teeth at 100 Acres too. Just an amazing experience. Definitely recommend it if you’re even a little interested in fossils!
